FEATURED UPCOMING EVENT: MNP Auctioneers with the support of Penang State Chinese Association will be organizing the Straits Chinese Antique Auction, Series II this year. For the second time coming, this exhibition cum auction event, will open its doors to the public on from 23rd to 26th November 2017. There will be 3 consecutive days of exhibition, starting on 23rd to 25th November 2017 at 10am to 5pm daily, leading up the grand auction on 26th November 2017 from 10.00am (Registration) and 11.00am (Auction Commencement).
There will be a total of 115 lots put up for auction which mainly consists of Peranakan and Straits Chinese antique collections ranging from precious tablewares such as plates, bowls, chupu’s, kam cheng’s and cutleries, Peranakan silverware and jewellery, vases, flower pots, bridal shoes and many more. This 4 days event will be held in conjunction with the Penang State Baba Nyonya Convention, which would be located at Lot 33, Level SB, Prangin Mall, Georgetown Penang.

29th October 2017, MNP Auctioneers was the official auctioneer for the recently concluded RHB Premier International Luxury Collection Week. It was a few days of everything luxury. Visitors could browse through cars (Lexus), motorcycles (Moto Guzzi), jewelleries (Amee Philips), watches (Corum), Peranakan ware, exclusive memorabilia, shipwreck items of a few hundred years old and even rare banknotes worth a few hundred thousand ringgit.

After a few days where MNP Auctioneers team showed many interested buyers all the items on display at our booth, nearly 40 potential bidders registered for the auction on Sunday at 1130am.

By 11am, the seats were all filled up and the auction started at 1130am sharp with some explanation by MNP Auctioneers’s CEO Stephen Soon. For some items, the bidding competition was very intense and it was watched even by visitors to Gurney Paragon on all floor. A Contemporary 4.5 carat Diamond Bangle by Amee Philips was sold at RM45,000. The reserve price started from RM28,000.

Blue and White Flower Phoenix Pattern Big Plate (shipwreck item from the Ming dynasty) Item consigned by Asian Heritage Museum. RM38,000.

A painting by Lee Man Fong titled ‘Two Monkeys’ were sold at RM33,000. The late Lee Man Fong was a Presidential Palace painter for former Indonesian President Sukarno.

A rare Famille Rose Yellow Ground Vase was sold at RM22,000 from its starting price of RM12,000.

A natural rhodolite garnet ring was sold for RM3,800 from its starting price of RM2,800.

The Ghee Hiang baby sculpture which is an extremely rare item today was sold for RM4,000. Its reserve price was RM1,800.
