How’s the Chinese New Year celebration and holidays? Specifically for
\nChinese, did you give out a lot of angpows or did you receive a lot of
\nthem? What’s the amount of money inside the packets? Is it still RM2 or
\nRM5 or RM10 or even higher? I think it depends a lot on who’s giving
\nthem. The wealthier ones may give higher and the retirees may give
\nlower. Both are fine because angpows are meant to be a wish for the new
\nyear and not an allowance to buy a meal or a new phone. I wished my
\nparents a healthy life, my parents wished my kids ‘fast tall growing
\nup.’ (in Mandarin) and for most of everyone else I wished a simple ‘Gong
\nXi Fa Cai.’ From the amount of money inside the angpow to the wishes for
\nhealth and even wishes for my kids, the connector is still MONEY.<\/p>\n

Nutritious food for the parents are not cheap. Vitamin supplements for
\nthe kids need money. For most of us, we need a full time job or even two
\njobs so that we have more money to spend. This is why investments are
\nvital. Whether it’s a property to hedge against inflation or a piece of
\nrare banknote which will be even more rare in the future, these are
\ninvestments that we should learn about and invest in. The good news is
\nthat for Malaysia, all these investments are still available.
\nDemographics wise, the median age of Malaysians is just 29 which meant
\nproperty investments are safe for a long time more. Whether banknotes or
\ncoins or even antiques, when we look at all the advanced markets, they
\nare already far ahead. The opportunities for these alternative
